Malawi is amongst the poorest countries in the world where only 35% of children complete their primary education and only 6% complete the secondary education. Primary education is free but secondary education is not.

Our Focus area |Education
The Overall goal is to promote access to high quality education for disadvantaged children and young people in the targeted locations across all levels of education in Malawi from Early childhood development through to tertiary education

Go For Girls
In 2004, a survey of menstruating girls in Malawi found that “The biggest numbers of school dropouts are girls because of inconveniences during their menstrual periods” In 1994, the government of Malawi started providing FREE primary education for all children starting from standard 1 up through standard 8.
Proposed Solution
Reusable sanitary pads are sustainable and easily renewable resource all allowing the girls to wash and reuse the rather than having to buy disposable pads every month. In addition, they are comparatively inexpensive and environmentally friendly. The social benefit of the implementation of this concept can greatly mitigate the disadvantages and challenges many disempowered girls endure their process of maturing.
